Bucharest - Tulcea
You'll be picked-up at the airport or from your hotel in Bucharest and driven to Murighiol, crossing the Danube at Giurgeni and traveling through the interesting Dobrogea region.
A boat will transfer you to your accommodations in the Danube Delta.

Day 2 - Danube Delta
Today, you'll explore the youngest territory in the world. (The Danube Delta started to form just 10,000 years ago and is still in the process of formation) Admire its scenic beauty and wildlife - it is known as the birdwatchers paradise, try your hand at fishing, or simply relax while browsing through the narrow channels. The Danube Delta cuisine is certain to provide an interesting dining experience!

Day 3 - Tulcea - Iasi
You'll ferry across the Danube before heading north to the beautiful city of Iasi, the capital of Moldavia. You'll spend the afternoon on a walking tour of the city to admire landmarks including the famous “Three Hierarchs” Church, the neo-gothic Palace of Culture, and the National Theatre Building. You'll spend the night in Iasi at "Traian", a hotel designed by the famous French engineer Gustav Eiffel!

Day 4 - Bucovina
You'll spend the day touring what we believe to be the most representative painted monasteries in Bucovina (Northern Moldova). This prestigious group includes Moldovita, Sucevita, Humor, and, of course, Voronet - what many have called the Sistine Chapel of Eastern Europe!

Day 5 - Bucovina - Hoteni / Botiza Village
Today, you'll take a scenic ride through Prislop Pass to Maramures, a fascinating land of wooden churches and carved wooden gates, unique folk costumes and traditions.
Stops along the way include the Barsana monastery with its superb wooden architecture and the Rozavlea wooden church with beautifully preserved interior paintings dating to the 18th century!

Day 6 - Maramures
You'll spend the full day in Maramures where you'll visit the UNESCO listed
wooden churches of Calinesti and Desesti as well as the unique Merry Cemetery
in Sapanta village.

Day 7 - Hoteni Village - Cluj - Sibiu
Following breakfast, you'll be driven to Sibiu via Cluj, a wonderful centuries-old town where you'll visit the St. Michael gothic style cathedral. The next stop is Sibiu, another beautiful, well-preserved city with origins dating to the middle ages. At the Brukenthal museum, Romania's oldest art museum, you’ll have access to the private collections of Governor Samuel von Brukenthal.

Day 8 - Sibiu - Biertan - Sighisoara
A morning walking tour through the old cobbled streets of Sibiu will feel like a trip back in time as you explore this medieval city. In the afternoon, you'll venture to Biertan fortress church, a World Cultural Heritage site that hosts the largest wing altar in Romania and was used for more than 300 years as the official residence of many Transylvanian Bishops.
Upon your arrival in Sighisoara, you'll understand why it is considered to be the best preserved medieval town in all of Europe. Continuously inhabited since the early Middle Ages, Sighisoara is the birth town of Prince Vlad Dracula!

Day 9 - Sighisoara
You'll have the full day to explore Sighisoara. Among the places to visit are the famous Clock Tower Museum and its Torture Room, the Evangelical Church, and the Armory Room. A must-stop is the house in which Vlad Dracula - the Impeller was born and also be sure to take a tour of the fortress including the Church on the hill.

Day 10 - Sighisoara - Brasov - Bran - Sinaia
Following breakfast, it's off to Brasov for a tour of another beautifully unique city. You'll have a busy morning with visits to St. Nicolae church, the museum of the first Romanian school in Transylvania, and the magnificent Black Church - largest gothic style church in South-Eastern Europe. After lunch and a short drive, you'll tour Bran Castle, also known as Dracula Castle, built by merchants in Brasov in the 14th century to protect the border between Walachia and Transylvania.

Day 11 - Sinaia - Bucharest
In the morning, your first stop is the Peles castle, the awesome former summer residence of the Romanian royal family. From there, you're off to the Sinaia Monastery, a beautiful example of the Walachian - Byzantine architectural style and the first building in Sinaia. Your day concludes with a panoramic tour of the capital of Romania.
